Guidelines for Vacating

To avoid charges & unnecessary deductions from your bond, we strongly recommend that you attend to the following items before vacating the property & returning the keys.

Kitchen

  • Oven & grill to be cleaned
  • Range hood to be cleaned, including filters (Where applicable)
  • All cupboards to be cleaned inside & out, including tops of the cupboards
    • Sink, taps, dishwasher & disposal unit (Where applicable) to be cleaned, including filters/drainers
    • Tiled area’s cleaned of any grease, marks etc
    • Clean walls, floors & skirting boards
    • Windows, window sills & blinds/curtains (if applicable) to be cleaned
    • All cobwebs to be removed

Laundry

  • Clean walls, floors & skirting boards, especially where washing machine has been
  • Clean laundry tub, including cupboard underneath & plughole
  • All cupboards to be cleaned inside & out, including tops of the cupboards
  • Windows, window sills & blinds/curtains (if applicable) to be cleaned
  • All cobwebs to be removed

Bathroom(s)

  • Shower & bath to be cleaned, including door/curtain, base & walls
  • Grouting to be free from any mildew or residue
  • Clean walls, floors & skirting boards
  • All plugholes to be cleaned & free from waste
  • Mirrors to be cleaned
  • All cupboards & drawers to be cleaned
  • Toilet to be cleaned, including bowl, seat (& under seat) & cistern
  • Windows, window sills & blinds/curtains (if applicable) to be cleaned
  • All cobwebs to be removed

Bedrooms & Living Area(s)

  • All cupboards to be cleaned inside & out, including tops of the cupboards
  • Clean walls, floors & skirting boards
  • Windows, window sills & blinds/curtains (if applicable) to be cleaned
  • Doors  & door frames to be left clean & undamaged
  • Any vents to be dusted (i.e. air vents, heating & cooling ducts etc)
  • All light fittings to be cleaned & free from insects
  • All ceiling fans to be free from dust etc (if applicable)
  • Clean all mirrors throughout
  • Drapes/curtains to be washed or dry-cleaned according to fabric instructions (if applicable)
  • All cobwebs to be removed

Outside Areas

  • Lawns to be mowed & edges trimmed. DO NOT dump green waste in garden beds or behind sheds
  • Flower beds & pebbled areas to be weeded (if applicable)
  • No rubbish to be left in the gardens or around the property
  • All garbage bins to be emptied & cleaned out
  • Driveways, carports, garages & any concrete areas to be free from oil & grease stains
  • Garage floor to be swept & all cobwebs removed
  • All cobwebs to be removed from outside the home
  • Pool & spa to be cleaned (If applicable)

Pest Control

  • If pets have been kept on the premises, the carpet must be treated for fleas

Carpets

  • Carpets are to be professionally cleaned & a receipt produced to our office.

Damage

  • Any damage caused to be repaired by a certified trades person

Other

  • Organise disconnection of all services (Power, water, gas, telephone etc)
  • Organise re-direction of mail

THESE ITEMS WILL BE CHECKED WHEN THE FINAL INSPECTION TAKES PLACE.  

IF ANY OF THE ABOVE HAS NOT BEEN PROPERLY CLEANED, YOU WILL BE REQUESTED TO GO BACK AND DO THEM AGAIN; ALTERNATIVELY,  A CLEANER CAN/WILL BE EMPLOYED.

WE SUGGEST THAT YOU PERUSE THE ORIGINAL CONDITION REPORT PROVIDED TO ENSURE THE PREMISES IS VACATED TO THE SAME STANDARD.
